In its most recent iteration, Jonathan Vaughters’ cycling team will compete under the banner of EF Education First for the 2019 cycling season. Historically this team has been sponsored by Garmin, Drapac, and others, but after a last minute save at the end of 2017, EF stepped in as title sponsor. Jonathan and his organization Slipstream Sports, Inc. are based out of the greater Denver area and the professional cycling team he leads has a global reach.
Recently EF Pro Cycling announced their roster and showed off this seasons kit, provided by their sponsor Rapha.
The team features prominent riders from Colorado, including two natives. Taylor Phinney comes from a cycling family and was born in Boulder, Colorado. He calls the area home alongside other cities like Girona and Los Angeles. Another rider, Alex Howes, also hails from the state and was born in Golden, Colorado.
The full list of 27 riders can be found on their website.
Besides racing the world tour, EF Pro Cycling is going to mix it up a bit and enter other events throughout the year. One notable event they mention is the Leadville 100, a 100 mile mountain bike race that takes place at over 10,000 ft of elevation.
