DJ Brandt is a mountain biker quickly making a name for himself in the sport of freeride. Born in Grand Junction, residing in Denver, and spending much of his time in Utah riding steep desert lines, DJ brings style and big tricks no matter the type of bike he is on.
After graduating high school, DJ moved to Denver and ended up working 40-50 hour weeks as a welder, forcing him to ride his bike after work at night and on the weekends. Eventually he earned a deal with Mongoose and became one of their team riders.
Since then he has been able to focus on riding even more and continues to progress at a quick rate. In 2017, DJ was a first time builder at Red Bull Rampage. Just one year later he received a wild card entry to the 2018 Rampage event.
Unfortunately he was unable to compete in the finals due to a cracked rib, but rest assured he will be back to try again.
For 2019, DJ has signed with Commencal and will be riding their slopestyle bikes and DH bike, the Furious.
Commencal has also just moved their US headquarters to Golden, CO, so anytime DJ is in town, support won’t be far.
It will be exciting to see what 2019 has in store for DJ as he competes in various Crankworx, Fest, and other events like Rampage. In the meantime, he’ll likely be shredding at Valmont Bike Park, Trestle, or digging big lines out in Utah.
