In light of the current situation regarding COVID-19, the 2020 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market has been cancelled.

Marisa Nicholson, the SVP and Show Director, cites many reasons for the cancellation. “This is due to developments regarding COVID-19 that we are all familiar with at this point, including, but not limited to, the declaration of a National State of Emergency; various statewide states of emergency across the nation; the latest federal measures, including travel restrictions placed on foreign nationals traveling to the United States from certain EU member states and other places; the declaration by the WHO of COVID-19 as a pandemic; the accelerating pace of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; current quarantines, containment areas, stay at home orders, and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies; and the resulting cancellations made by several partners.”

Originally scheduled for June 23-25, the Summer Market provides outdoor brands a place to show off their latest releases, meet with retailers, and attend industry events. In lieu of this, the Outdoor Retailer team will be partnering with the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) and Snowsports Industries America (SIA) to establish a way for brands and members to utilize digital tools and programming to meet their needs.

This includes:

  • Reinforcing buyer/seller networks
  • Discovering of new brands, products, and retailers
  • Uniting people and staying connected
  • Accessing media and marketing tools

Ongoing updates from Outdoor Retailer can be found on their website: https://www.outdoorretailer.com/

As this time the Outdoor Retailer Winter show remains scheduled and is set for January 27-29 in 2021. We attended the Winter Show last year and were fortunate enough to meet with a few brands then. We look forward to the show resuming once it is safe to do so and connecting with all the great Colorado brands and teams at that time.
